Illegal, stolen, or unauthorized items
Do not list stolen property, counterfeit goods, items obtained through fraud, items you do not own or lack authority to sell, or anything whose possession, sale, shipment, or handoff is unlawful.
Do not list leased, rented, financed, employer-owned, school-owned, or government-owned equipment unless you have documented authority and the sale does not violate another person’s rights.
Dangerous and regulated items
Weapons, ammunition, explosives, drugs, controlled substances, alcohol, tobacco or vaping products, hazardous materials, recalled products, unsafe batteries, and items subject to special licensing or regulated-sale requirements are prohibited.
Medical devices, prescription products, surveillance equipment used unlawfully, and products designed to defeat safety or security controls are also prohibited.
Locked, counterfeit, or compromised devices
Do not list devices that are activation-locked, reported lost or stolen, blacklisted, counterfeit, materially misrepresented, or inaccessible to the buyer because an account, management profile, financing restriction, or carrier restriction was not disclosed and removable.
A serial-number or IMEI format check does not prove clear title or guarantee that a device will never be blacklisted.
Personal data and account access
Do not sell personal information, passwords, accounts, access tokens, financial data, identity documents, SIM credentials, pirated software, unauthorized licences, or devices intentionally containing another person’s data.
Sellers must remove accounts, disable locks, back up what they need, and erase personal data before handoff.
Non-item and deceptive listings
SafeSale listings cannot be used for cash transfers, loans, gift-card exchanges, cryptocurrency, financial instruments, tickets, deposits, services, rentals, raffles, donations, or transactions that are not a genuine sale of a supported used item.
Misleading photos, false identifiers, hidden material defects, fee evasion, and requests to move payment or contact outside the SafeSale flow are prohibited.
Removal and reporting
SafeSale may pause or remove a listing, offer, or transaction when needed for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or policy enforcement. Where appropriate, SafeSale may preserve records and respond to lawful requests.
Report a suspected prohibited item to support@safe-sale.ca with the listing link and reason. Do not arrange a handoff when you reasonably suspect theft, danger, or illegality.
Email support@safe-sale.ca. Include the transaction ID when your question concerns an offer, payment, or handoff.
